Miss Emilia Grace is 7 weeks old today and mommy is finally feeling well rested and has her act together enough to start the long ago promised blog. Here you can keep up with Emilia’s busy little life. She has grown and changed so much in 7 weeks. We can’t believe how big she’s getting.
Welcoming Emilia into our family has been the greatest blessing of our lives.  She is perfect in every way and we were in love at first sight. We were so grateful to be present at her birth and to begin bonding with her right away.

Our 4 hour drive home from the hospital was uneventful. Emilia slept the whole way, except for a quick stop where we had to wake her up to feed her. She still loves the car and usually falls asleep once we get moving. Her first night home, Emilia slept very little – probably because she slept in the car so long. Since then, she’s been sleeping great. Until a few days ago she was waking up every 3 to four hours. Now, she’s sleeping through the night! She’ll sleep from 10pm to 6am which means we’re sleeping through the night, too!
Everyone from Emilia’s grandparents to her pediatrician agree, she’s a perfect little package. She is healthy in every way.  She is gaining weight perfectly, eating great, sleeping great. She is a very content little girl who only cries when hungry. These days she’s eating 4 ounces just about every 3 hours, then grazing her way through 6 to 7oz in the hours before bedtime.  At her last doctor’s visit, Emi weighed in at 9lbs 7oz.
On October 9th, Emilia was baptized surrounded by lots of family including Nana and PopPop (Anne’s Parents), Grandma and Grandpa (Tommy’s parents), Tommy’s Grandmother, Nana, and her Godparents, her 16 year old cousin MaryAlice and her Uncle Brian. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful celebration.

Two weeks later Emilia and I traveled to Upstate NY for her cousin Tucker’s baptism. Emilia loved to fly. The hum of the engines put her right to sleep.  The baptism was beautiful and Emilia enjoyed meeting some more of her aunts, uncles and cousins. Cousin Tucker is exactly one week older than Emilia and they‘ve become fast friends.

On Halloween Emilia showed off some cute little outfits while we greeted trick-or-treaters.

And she did her best to cheer the Rangers to a World Series win, but a little girl can only do so much. The Rangers lost to the Giants.

Emilia is growing so fast. We are amazed at the changes in her every day. She gives us big smiles now, and has started to reach for and grab things. She’s big on cuddling and looks around for us when she hears our voices.  She fills our lives with such joy! We are blessed, honored and very proud to call her our daughter.

I will try to post here frequently. I’ll post updates and pictures and videos, keeping you up to date on our little Emilia’s milestones, big and small.
Love and many blessings to you all,
Anne
