Where to start?

Lately it seems Emilia is having a vocabulary growth spurt. She puts lots of words together. Sentences often begin with I want to but it sounds a lot like "o wolla". "O wollo go out"  "o wollo a'all" (I want an apple).

We took her to the YMCA for "swim lessons" which she didn't love at first but definitely warmed up to. Having her used to the water came in handy since we've already had 90+ degree weather and were able to enjoy the pool. She loved it and wants in every day now. But, as May weather goes, the heat didn't last too long.

The Easter Bunny was very generous, bringing not only an Easter basket but also a Cozy Coupe Car. She's a huge fan but hasn't figured out how to get it moving yet...and she doesn't want any one's help learning. That's right, we've got an early case of "I do it myself". Emilia is so independent! Not only does she know what she wants to do, she knows what she wants us to do, too. And she's not afraid to tell us.

She did two Easter egg hunts. The first was with her playgroup friends in a park nearby. It was a warm day and she was really into the melted chocolate inside the eggs. What a mess! On Easter Day it was rainy and a little chilly, so we did an indoor egg hunt at Aunt Kim's.  She lost interest in hunting after two eggs, but was quick to take the eggs from her cousins' baskets

In April we visited the butterfly exhibit at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. That was a huge hit! She has been fascinated with "bubb-eyes" ever since! The SeaLife Aquarium in Grapevine, TX wasn't as big a hit. She was terrified  for most of it, but was so excited at the interactive starfish exhibit. The cutest thing was when she wouldn't walk over glass floors displaying the fish tanks below. She tried to crawl away, not understanding that she could walk on it. So cute.

And of course Emi continues to win hearts everywhere she goes! These days she says "Hi!" in a little high pitched voice to everyone she sees (including animals). This is usually accompanied by a VERY enthusiastic open handed wave. This is then followed by "byebye" in the same adorable voice, accompanied by opening and closing of her little fist.  It is so stinking cute!!

We have begun the process to adopt again and are hoping for a little brother or sister for Emilia soon! She loves babies and we think she will be a wonderful big sister. We'll let you know when we have any news.

Love to all and we'll update again soon!

The TV isn't the only thing she likes to control. Emi is seriously bossy!

Signing thank you...for the fresh whipped cream :)

We'll be happy if this new hat lasts the summer. It is toddle sized, but her head barely fits!

But there's room to grow in mommy's shoes...

Summer came in May this year, so we got to enjoy the pool early! Emilia loves it. She wakes up in the morning saying "kick kick kick". It's been tough telling her that we can't swim everyday. It's a little cold most days.

Given her love of the pool, the safety net was a great investment.

Corn Rocks!

On our way to NY for PopPop's retirement party. They'll let anyone fly a plane these days!
