Happy New Year!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and wishing everyone lots of blessings in 2013!

Sorry for the long gap since our last post. It has been a very busy holiday season. Instead of going to NY for the week after Christmas, this year we went for Thanksgiving.  While we missed out on snow we did have a great visit with Anne's parents and sisters. As you'll see below, Emilia had a great time with her cousins. After Thanksgiving dinner, the girls had a two hour long dance party and Emilia partied with the best of them! Now dance parties are an almost nightly occurrence in our house.

The month of December was full of playdates - there are so many fun crafty ideas for kids at Christmas time. Emilia just loved all things Santa. But when we saw Santa and Mrs. Claus at the mall,  Emilia didn't really want to get too close to Santa. So The Claus' invited Mommy to get into the picture. The adults all look happy. Emi...not so much. But as soon as we were done taking pictures, she was all about Santa again. Go figure.

Along with bedtime stories about Santa, she also had a book about the birth of Jesus being the reason we get gifts at Christmas. She really liked that book and liked to tell us all about "Mary, JoJo and Baby GeeGee". So Cute!

Christmas morning was so much fun. Now, Santa went a little overboard with lots and lots of presents. Santa set up a little wooden train in front of the tree - mistake :) Once she spotted that it was all over. She had no interest in opening other gifts or playing with any other toys. She eventually opened everything, and in the end the train was still her favorite, with the tricycle in a close second. To top the day off, we had snow!!! Not enough to play in (and it was so so so cold), but it was very pretty to have snow falling on Christmas day.

Tommy was off the week between Christmas and New Year, and we weren't travelling so we had the best week at home - doing nothing! It was  a cold week, perfect for being cozy at home. We watched movies, played with the new toys and we painted the playroom upstairs. It is now ready for our big girl who LOVES having this room dedicated to fun! We're still working on the details, but toys are moved in and she couldn't be happier. A great start to the new year! Hopefully she will have a little brother or sister soon to share this great space with. Fingers crossed.

Enjoy the pictures! Blessings to all in 2013!
