We are jumping for joy that we are now a family of four!
We're definitely going through a bit of a transition period. While Emilia is full of hugs, kisses and love for her little brother, she hasn't quite figure out why his arrival means she has to share her toys, and worse...share us. She does love to be a big helper though and that seems to be smoothing the transition a bit.
Emilia is still loving her gymnastics classes. In a few weeks we'll start swim lesson as we get ready for another fun summer. School is going great! She loves her teachers and her little friends. I don't want to break it to her that it'll be over soon for the summer.
Sadly our sweet doggy Bruno went to heaven a few weeks ago. It was a very sad day and explaining it to Emilia was heart wrenching. She took it great though. She was sad but was happy bruni (as she calls him) would be healthy and happy in heaven. Lately she has been talking about sending the cat to heaven to be with Bruno. The cat should sleep with one eye open :)
Some of the funny things Emilia has said lately:
Emi: Mommy where is heaven?
Mommy: Where do you think it is?
Emi: New York
(Singing herself to sleep) Thank you God for taking care of Bruni (Bruno). Now he is so very very happy in heaven.
Ladies and gentle ben. Presenting Fahna. The amazing ballerina.
I wanna be a doctor like Dr. Mann (her pediatrician who she just ADORES.)
(Arms crossed and hip stuck out to the side) "Well I will be the mommy one day and then I will be the boss!!" ...then she slammed the door in mommy's face.
I wish we could go to church and sing "Rory to God".
(After a tough morning of Emilia not listening to mommy) Mom are you proud of me for being a good listener? I'm proud of you for being a good listener too mommy
Emi: (screaming) now I'm going to be SAD!
Anne: sorry to hear that.
Emi: And don't you talk to me like that when I'm being naughty!
Anne: sorry to hear that.
Emi: And don't you talk to me like that when I'm being naughty!
I love u mommy girl
Anne:did u wash your hands?
Emi: yes
Anne: soap and water and you dried them?
Emi: yes
Anne: if I smell them will they smell like soap?
Emi: yes
Anne: soap and water and you dried them?
Emi: yes

The look on Emi's face: Dang! I didn't think of that.
