Amazing Summer

We're having an amazing summer! School here ends before Memorial Day and the kids go back to school in 2 weeks. It's hard to believe. In May Emilia made her First Communion. She looked so beautiful! The kids have enjoyed summer sports camps and we've spent lots of time swimming with friends. We also took an incredible trip to Colorado. The summer weather there made us all want to move :)

First Communion

On the field for Rangers batting practice.
A player gave them a ball...and Matt handed it to us and said "Here. I already have a baseball."

Fun on the 4th

The Blue River ran right through our backyard.

Getting to know the horses before a horseback ride in the mountains.

I think river rafting was the highlight for the kids. So much fun!

At the top of the gondola in Breckenridge
is a fun adventure park.
Emi did not dig the Gondola ride. But she loved everything else.

She kept referring to the Alpine Slide as the All Time Slide :)

We Took Some Fantastic Hikes

Snow in July!

Emi got really into rock balancing.

Our most adventurous hike wasn't supposed to be. About a mile in the path was blocked by what looked like an old avalanche with snow pack and downed trees for about 50 yards. The kids said "Team Monahan never gives up" so we found our way over snow and under downed trees and it was worth it. We went on to an incredible waterfall spilling over huge boulders from one lake into another. Mommy got over her paralyzing fear of heights and we walked out onto the very high boulders beside the falls. A beautiful sight that photos just don't do justice.
